Description and task
The task is to extract opinion tuples (opinion source, opinion object, sentiment, language expression) from Russian-language news texts. The source of the opinion may be the author of the text, the author of the quotation, or another entity mentioned. The opinion may be implicit, i.e. expressed through the actions of the entity.
This shared task is a continuation of the RuSentNE-2023 shared task [1]which required predicting the sentiment of a sentence in relation to a given named entity.
For the sentence:
Премьер-министр Италии Маттео Ренци заявил, что с уходом Фо «страна потеряла крупнейшую фигуру культурной жизни». (Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said that with Fo’s departure, «the country has lost the major figure in cultural life.»)
The following opinion tuple should be generated:
(Маттео Ренци, Фо, pos, the largest figure in cultural life)
(Matteo Renzi, Fo, pos, the major figure in cultural life)
